Ok, so I ordered a p/s pump (w/reservoir) thru a local reputable parts store. They sent it with the wrong reservoir attached. It included a note that said that the round and square reservoirs were interchangable. I am here to tell you that they are NOT!! I had them order me just the pump and I will swap the reservoir. My reservations are in leakage. Any tips/tricks that I might use to make sure the marriage of pump/reservoir goes smoothly and does not leak?
Thanks in adavance!!

The parts store was probably half right / half wrong. Both pumps would probably fit your car, but it wouldn't be stock. Had the same problem. Made them find the right one.
I think the can goes on with a o-ring, I would coat the o-ring a sealent that won't swell rubber, not silcone, maybe CopperCoat,
IndianHead,....good luck
I've had good luck just putting the reservoir on with just a light coating of oil on the seal. Make sure that the inner surface of the reservoir is clean. It seals better than you think once you tighten up the backside bolts. Good Luck.

Ok...all done. All seems nice and snug. The o-ring came pre-oiled so I left it alone. I cleaned the inside of the old reservoir out with brake-clean, and then dried it out. Making SURE that I got all of the brake-clean out! I then cleaned off the gunk/surface rust off of the ring where the o-ring would seat. Lastly I cleaned it out again with light spraying of brake-clean, and again made SURE I got all of it out. Doesn't seem to leak (yet). So all seems well, thanks for the help!

Riffers I was in the same situation a few months ago.. installed the new pump with the old reservoir.. I cleaned it pretty good and just coated the big o-ring with oil so it would install easily and so far so good
