I was bored today so i went in the garage turned the heater on and started looking for my build sheet. I took the back seat out and under the seat stuck to a spring on the side was a small card, it almost looked like a punch card. It looked like one you stick in the computer because it has IBM on the bottom and it had little rectangles punched in it in certain areas. On the left hand side it has 755 3637 in big bold letters. On the top it has sec-trim and under it, it has 204547, next is body no, then the numbers 49074, next is insp. seq. no., then the numbers 221033, next is c, then the number 2, finally there is the number b55 with no writing above it. The rest i can't tell you because it was ripped. If anyone has any idea what this is please tell me.
thanks,
lucky3

My opinion is...
What I believe you found is known as a trim build sheet. This is the 'codes' the seat factory used to make sure the right material was placed on the seat, springs installed/tested etc. before the seat or other trim pieces were sent to the appropriate GM plant that built your vehicle.
Neat, but not very intriguing.

lucky3,
These are very common. They were used to schedule seat cushions in the trim shop.

Yes i found one for my '70 SS396 also. It had the VIN # at the top for my car and a bunch of holes in it. Neat to find 30 year old cardboard in good shape. I also found a piece of paper under the original carpet with a build date on and a couple of other numbers pertaning to the carpet.
