The pod is black.Thats the way it was when I replaced it on my car.Brackets too.I left the replacement unpainted but when I restore I will paint it black.

The original, which came on my 72 wagon and is now on my son's 71, was silver cad (kind of dull now). The repo that I got from OPG for the 70 conv is a nice fresh silver cad plated.

I stand firm on my response that the pod is black, not silver, cad or natural.I am right now looking at a picture of Roger Ausleys old Gobi LS6 engine and the pod is black. The car is an unrestored 5,000 mile car.Mine is an unrestored car as well and when I removed the old pod that was broken it was black.

Another question about the hood flapper. All the fins are broken at the center because the vacuum actuator pulls it down too far. It acutally bows in the middle. Is there something I'm missing that limits the travel of the actuator arm?
