I have a non original engine 67 SS with factory guages. I understand that the red line on the tach determines what HP engine was originally in the car. Does anyone know the 325-350-375 HP red line differences to help me determine which engine I should be looking for to match originality? Also, the body build date is the 1st week of Oct 67. Which engine build date months would be considered accurate based on my body build?

Mark, I'm not a numbers guy but I do know that 67 was a bummer year for supplying the old Chevelle SS line with venerable rats. I'd check the reference section here on this to be doubly sure.
That's why so many 427's wiggled their way between the fenders of 67's,

I would think that the redlines would be as follows. 5000rpm=325hp, 5500rpm=350hp, 6000rpm=375hp. They mad 612 375hp models My .03 worth

They did make a few 375hp in 67.What the redline diff are,I don't know.But I think the 375 didn't offer air conditioning. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

Here is the breakdown of the tach applications for 1967.
325hp=5000rpm red line
350hp and 325 with A/C=5500rpm red line
375hp=6000rpm red line
They did make 375 hp 67 Chevelles, but less than 1000 where made.
