I'm currently installing the front sway bar bushings on my 70 (with 1 1/4" bar), and I can't get the bushing (rubber)around the sway bar when I tighten the bracket down. It ends up bunching up on one side, and not allowing the two ends to complete a circle around the bar. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like maybe you have bushings for a smaller bar ?
Did you try putting some lubricant on the bar and bushings ?
Might try tighting one side just a little and then the other a little at a time on each side.

70SS, I just went thru the exact same scenerio. Got my 1.25" bar from PST and was tempted to call them and have the 'correct' bar bushings sent to me. As it turned out, I did have the right bushings.
You more than likely have the correct ones as well...it takes some force and manuevering to get them to slip in properly. I put mine on the bar before bolting the bar in place with the brackets. In other words, put some more force into it - it's a tight fit.

I went down to the local auto parts store today and got a set of MOOG bushing (rubber). These had a different shape on top, took them home and they fit like a glove.

I got hellwig sway bars and energy suspension bushings and had similar problems. Performance suspensions was zero help, it takes some force and alignment to get them to work. I ended up taking it to Overland Frame and having them set them when they aligned the front end. good luck,
