What i am trying to achieve is: I have a column shift with the indicator on the dash. I am swapping it to the floor and i would like to have the floor shift work in conjunction with the dash mounted indicator (Like on newer cars). I have a console by the way. NOw is there a way to rig the linkage from the floor shifter to the dash mounted indicator? I think this would look cool and save me some $$ then trying to find another speedo with out the indicator. If you have any clue to what i am trying to do please give any suggestions. Thanx alot

As far as I know there is NO way to do that and the gear indicator in a floor shift car was still there just blacked out.

Absolutely it can be done, it's very simple, keep all your existing linkage to the column in place, swap the column tranny bracket for a floorshift tranny bracket ( same except the floorshift bracket has an extra arm to hold the end of the shifter cable. You can even easily make one out of your existing bracket. Done!!.......GT

I agree with GT, also remember this only works if you change to a floor shift column. You can also retain your neutral safety, and reverse light switches in there original position at the base of the column.
