I just ordered one of these (USA-5). Does anyone have one of these and are they decent radios?? I looked around before deciding on it but couldnt find anything that would fit without cutting up the dash.
It has some nice features on it but no specs were listed.

I have one in my car. It works ok but it's basicly a $40 radio that will fit our dash so they nail us for $275. The bigest complaint I have is the LCD display is barely visible. You have to look at it at a certain angle to be able to read it. I sent mine back to them because I thought something was wrong with it but they said it was normal.

Concur with Don Bloc about the display being very dim. I've had the most basic unit in my el camino for about 7 years. It makes music. I'm thinking of upgrading to the CD compatible model with a bit more power or the Kenwood version.
You may find the specs you want at: www.customautosound.com (http://www.customautosound.com) .
Let us know how you like it once installed. Does anyone have the Kenwood modified radio from customautosound?

I just bought the Secret Audio system made by the same company. Actually, I don't think they make anything, they import from China and over charge US for it. I haven't hooked it up yet but the specs aren't too bad compared to a medium-of-the-line system like Kenwood, Pioneer, etc. Hope I'm more satisfied than you guys were with the USA-5.

I hear they are JUNK! I just put my 8 track in the dash and hooked up a CD-player in the glove compartment- plenty of space left.

I had one in my 67 and it gave me nothing but fits with ignition static. I had a Sony in dash CD from when I traded my truck in, so I bought an underdash DIN mount for $15, installed the Sony and no more ignition static, even with my MSD system.

These radios look good, but if its sound you are after, look elsewhere.

I had problems with the USA 5 reception. At times it would pick up great, then I would be in the same spot a few days earlier and its reception would be terrible. My old elcheapo radio picked up fine all the time with the same antenna. I sent it back. They tested it and said nothing was wrong and to try changing my antenna. Just reinstalled it Saturday. I will give it another try. Maybe it fixed itself?
