In 1967, did the 396-325 hp engine come with spark plug heat shields attached via the exhaust manifold bolts? My car has the original engine and the shields are present. I was told this is incorrect on the base motor. Thanks.

I have a '67 with the 396-325 that has the original motor & it doesn't have them. I was looking into buying a set for it, & when I looked at several of the aftermarket Chevelle parts sources, they skip '67 in their application list. I assumed that they weren't used on that particular year, but don't know for sure. I don't know of a reason why they wouldn't work, however (such a unique dipstick mount being in the way, etc.).
