hello, I'm wondering who you daily drivers insure your cars with? My company won't insure my 72 for anything other than minimum and the company they referred me to said they wouldn't insure it if it was driven (just for trailer queens). Thats the first time i was ever told they wouldn't insure it if i did drive it! Please don't pass on negative dealings with companies, i just need to know who is out there for us daily drivers. thanks,
kevin d

I am insured with Westfield. They insured my Chevelle for the appraised value $15,000.00
for $173.00 a year. I have a floating 7 month period of daily driving and 5 months of storage. I say floating in that I do not have to tell them when I store it. I get full coverage when I'm driving, theft and fire when its stored.

I have State Farm, but no Comprehensive or Collision coverage (if that's what you are looking for). One is covered as a regular vehicle and priced accordingly, the others are covered under their policy for "antiques". The antiques, for Liability only, are about 1/2 the normal coverage and the mileage is restricted.

I wonder who writes the "best" Agreed-Value policy for Collision and Comprehensive coverage.

All of my vehicles are insured with State Farm. I would contact a local agent and explain your delima. Advise him you want to insure the car with full coverage and it will be driven on a regular basis. Be up front so as not to have any problems should an accident occur and a claim made. Use an "estimated" value. This should be used for setting the premium and should not limit the value. Should the vehicle be totaled, value will be on an "ACV" basis. This means the value of the car at the time of loss. It could be higher or lower than the estimated value. The problem with an "antique" policy is it limits you on how you can use the car. I hope this helps. State Farm has been good to me and they have a national campaign directed at the old car hobby--see their ad in Hemmings.
