I talked to a tech guy at Summit today. Said all Holley makes is carbs in that new silver finish. I guess I could call Holley, but they are closed for the weekend.
I want to buy a carb soon, this kinda throws me off. I don't know if I want a silver carb. I had one before, finish didn't last long.

I had the same thing happen to me. I called Summit and Jegs for a holley , they said they only make the silver finish (about $40 more) I told them I didn't want or need a silver carb. They said too bad they only make the silver in the carb you want.Well, I broke down and bought one. But, If you really want the regular finish and you find out if holley really dosen't make the original finish, you can probably find one at a swap meet and then have it redone.
Personally, I don't believe Holley stopped making the 750cfm in the regular finish. What about their drag racing customers? I'm sure they have no need for silver finishes. Is this a money making gimmick for Summit & Jegs or is there truth in what they say?

I talked to a Holley rep at Chevellabration '98 (a year ago) and they still made plenty of models in regular finish then. I have a Holley catalog and there are many models in regular finish. They may cost more than the models Summit/Jegs sells, but I think they are still available. I would get a catalog and call Holley for a dealer. von

I called Summit about a month ago looking for a Holley 850 for my 502. I told them I didn't want the silver finish. After being on hold about 10minutes he said they had one left in the original Holley finish and I had it 2 days later.
Try PAW, they have a few left also but they are a little more expensive then Summit.
