You might want to consider a new aftermarket unit. I'm not a distributor expert but I'm told there is bushings that tend to wear out and can cause problems. I went from a pertronix ignition (which I wasn't very happy with) to a new D.U.I. HEI distributor. I sent them the specs on my engine; size, compression, cam specs, etc., and they "custom" built a distributor with the proper advance curve and everything for my motor. No more pinging problems and it seems to have a lot more snap to it off the line. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif I don't remember the cost but I do remember it wasn't cheap. They advertise regularly in Super Chevy. I know there is a guy on this sight that goes by Ignition Man or something like that. I'm taking a wild guess but I bet he's more of an expert, maybe he can help you out more. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gif
