I installed weather stripping around my doors and along the roof rail of my chevelle. The problem is now my doors will not shut all the way, they stick out about 1/2 inch. I was hoping the problem would go away because it was new weather stripping, but it has been this way for about a month. It appears that the weather stripping at the front of the doors is pushing it out. What can I do?
Check your hinge bushings. I can't think of any way that the doors could be pushed out at the hinge side by the weatherstrip if the hinges were tight and properly adjusted. Other than that, if it is the correct weatherstrip and it's made by a reputable company, give it about a week or so before making any striker adjustments. You may be surprised how much it will settle in.

I put the front windows back in the other day. They too do not sit flush with the back windows.
The hinge bushings may sound like the way to go. My hinges are damaged especially on the passenger side. But i am probably looking at buying new hinges. Is replacing this easy?
Check the archives, I think you'll find info on hinge replacement.
