I really hate to bother everyone with something so trivial, but it's some info I can't get 100% either way. Basically, in my '68 Chevelle right now I got a '74 400. I also have the radiator from it, a 3-core. This past weekend I noticed that it seemed taller than the other. What I need to know is if this is the same radiator I would get if I was to get the heavy duty, 3-core radiator made for say a '68 327. It occured to me today that the old one I had in there could have been a wrong size radiator. This one sticks about an inch above the top of the radiator support. The other one I had was even height-wise with the radiator support. This one seems like it's not much lower than the closed hood. I found somewhere that it looks like both the '74 3-core and the '68's v8 3-core are both 16 1/8 inch tall. If it's the wrong radiator I'm prepared to buy a new one, but I would really like to know if this is actually the correct size to use in the '68 Chevelle.
I think the above may sound confusing. What I need to know is what the size of the '68 heavy-duty 3-core(same as used for the big blocks) radiator, and if possible would the 3-core radiator for a '74 chevelle 400 be the right one to use in a '68 Chevelle.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
