Well it finally got here. Shes in the garage.I bought this car through phone conversation and photos only. After some negotiating I bought it and ordered a transporter to go get it.I only had 7K to spend and 1K was for shippingso I didnt expect to get much for my 6K. So it shows up and im hit with a 200dollar (non op) fee because the driver left the door open and wasted the battery. other than that the car has a little more rust under the vinyl top than the photos showed and a little more rust on the rear quarters than the photos showed but all in all i think I got a pretty good deal. Triple black 13837 SS with a non matching 68 325hp 396. 4speed with new clutch. you dont get much for 6k now a days. Ill post some picks as soon as shes cleaned up a little.

Congratulations, I hope you enjoy it. I bet the open door was a ploy by the driver to pad his wallet. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Congratulations on your 68! I had a truck driver drag my Camaro through a Colorado snowstorm, it was covered in Salt when I got it and sure enough, it wouldnt start either... but 68's are cool, especially 4 speed big block cars. sometimes replacement sheetmetal is just part of the deal, depends on your plans for it. good luck

shows that a plane ticket is priceless when it comes to $1000 shipping charge, you coulda flew out, and drove it home (or towed it) saved 1/2 your $$ and saw what you were buying before hand, that's what i did and that's the only way i'd do it again.

That sounds similar to mine.....although I wish mine was a 4spd. Let us know when you get pictures. $6000 sound like a pretty damn good deal to me....

To Chev-hell, plane tickets from Maine to Minnasota were over five hundred dollars,I just didnt dare drive it 1457 miles and risk a break down, then with food and lodgeing I think that having it dropped in my drive is a pretty good deal for $1000.Although your trip does seem interesting but anyway live and learn thats what i did and now shes mine thanks for the reply.....

Ahhhh, the wait is over!
I had to wait 2 and 1/2 weeks for my '70 SS to get from Idaho to NJ!
The original driver abandoned the truck and ran off with the cash collected to deliver the cars!! The owner of the company had to fly from Florida to Boston and deliver the rest of the cars himself! Thnk god they didn't steal the damn truck with the Chevelle, a '87 Ferrari Testarossa, a Porsche RUF 911 widebody on it.
It was covered in road grime, but got stared at and checked out daily anyways said the driver. To top it all off as bizzare, a guy who posts on this site saw the the truck carrying my car in a Lodge.
