Hi,
Not sure if this is the right forum for this but I'm trying to find a good finish for a rebuilt holley. I'm through with the dissasembly and cleaning but am now kinda afraid all the scrubbing will have been a waste if everything just goes to rust. I've considered metal (i guess it would be a zinc or chrome) plating, some of the the passages are so small and precise as it is; would this constrict flow at all? Eastwoods got this Carb Renew but I've heard it sucks. Anyone ever try something from VHT?

Dan, you have two options as far as I can see, the Eastwoods, which seems odd to be painting a carb ( I'm always tuning so I know I'm gonna get gas on the thing) or plating. I figure the plating will run about $75 or so but it's beautiful. I don;t have the shop's name here, but Bill K had some carbs done and they were pretty. I've also seen anodized bodies. Probably more than the plating and not close to original finish.

So have the red Chinese released you yet Dali??? http://www.chevelles.com/forum/rolleyes.gif

Those carbs that BillK did are for a 435 vette we are working on. He sent them to a company called AED I think. They sell all sorts of Holley rebuild parts. The plating they did is nice.
