I need to replace the dipstick in my tranny. I was wondering if there is anykind of a gasket or if I should use silicon. its a TH350. thanx for your help

Depending on the year of the tranny they used 2 different type seals. One is just an "o" ring and the other type is a ribbed sleeve that fits into the case and the tube slides into it. Either one will work in the case, the tubes are different. If it is an "o" ring tube it will have a groove in it.

I put some silicon on the male end just before dropping it in. Both surfaces must be clean and oil free.
