I've performed the conversion of the alternator from external regulator to internal regulator per the tech bulletin. I went from a 65A extern reg to a 95A internal reg.

However, once my electric fans come on (operating temp), the engine will run-on for about 5 seconds when I turn off the ignition.

What's up with that???

As an aside, both the regulator connector (4 wires) and the alternator connector (2 wires) had different color wires than those in the bulletin. My 2 wire connector at the alternator had 1 yellow & 1 green wire. The 4 wire connector at the regulator was black, brown, yellow, red.

Any thoughts on this?

If the colors are different I would go by the position on component. Is your fan hooked to the ignition side of the switch? It could be feeding power back into the system when it is running.
