Hey folks,
Just spent my whole lunch time plus some trying to find front sway bar mount bolts. No one had any (local parts and dealers). Can anyone tell me what size and type bolt could be used as a replacement? Using the old ones isn't good since they fell apart in my hand while removing them. TIA,
kevin d

I had the same problem, I ended up using the same size bolt, but without the self tapping notch. Works ok, but it's just a band aid until I put another order in with a parts supplier. I've seen these bolts in the Year One catalog and you could also try this sites sponsor, Ground Up Restorations.
I don't recall the exact size of the bolt off the top of my head, but you could call one of these places and I'm sure they'd help you out.

They are just standard bolts available at any hardware store. I don't know the exact size, just make sure to buy grade 5 or 8 hardware (3 or 6 dashes on the bolt head).

Well, the one's I took out of my front sway bar were not standard bolts, because no one had them at any hardware or auto parts store. They have this big v-notch cut into the top portion of the threads that made them different. Not sure if these vary from year to year and size of sway bar. But my 70 has a large diameter sway bar, and "regular bolts" didn't hold well.

Hey folks,
Thanks for the help. I ended up using 3/8 X 1 1/4 course thread bolts. They went right in and are now ready to roll!
