The question I have is in 70 does anyone have a 70 owners manual handy-I need to know how many different radios were available in 70. I considered buying one for my car-just to be original and the one I looked at has the radio buttons over the 8track player.
Is this possible for 70 or is it for another year or make?

AM/FM 8-track was available in 70.
The buttons on the top are correct. But as far as I know, on the 70 radio, the stereo light is blue, where the 71-72 is amber colored.

I'm building the radio pages for this site as we speak, and I have a picture for every radio in the '70 model year. Unfortuanately it's not done yet, but...

In '70 you could get the following:

AM pushbutton radio

AM/FM-mono pushbutton radio

AM/FM-stereo pushbutton radio

AM/8-track pushbutton radio

AM/FM/8-track pushbutton radio

The 1970 AM/FM/8 track has the buttons above the tape/dial door. The lettering on the dial is light green colored. On each side of the bezel there should be green over-spray paint, as it lights up green.

'71-72's have blue over-spray and white lettering/numbers.

1970 AM/FM/8-tracks, have an indicator on each side, one for "stereo" and one for "FM" they are both AMBER colored NOT BLUE.

The pushbuttons have 3 buttons that serve "double duty" one says "AM" one says "FM" and one says "EJECT"

If you need model numbers or more help e-mail me.

There was indeed a 70 amfm 8 track stereo offered with the buttons over the tape portion of the radio. In fact I just found one this weekend at a swap meet. I also have one for my car. The 70 radio has a amber light for fm and stereo, it lights up green and is a very hard radio to find. the 71/72 radios are exacly the same but they light up blue and have white letters.

The other radios offered these years were a am, am/fm, am 8 track w/stereo, and a am/fm 8 track stereo.
