I am planning on converting my 67 Malibu to A/C. Any recommendations on a specific company that makes a nice kit. I am willing to spend no more than $1000.00. Its just too hot here in Arkansas. Thanks for any help.

are you going to do it yourself?? you are lookin at around $1500 for a good system. you may want to try an a/c shop and see what they can do for you. i have a dealer installed aftermarket a/c system from 1970. it would be great if you could find one in a junk yard brackets and all.

Warren try here: http://www.vintageair.com/
I believe they are well under a grand and there is an excellent article by Wes Vann here: http://www.chevelles.com/techref/ftecref19.html which is an article on installing one of these kits.
Good Luck!

I got a Vintage Air Surefit kit for my '68. It cost $1050 plus shipping and sales tax because I'm in Texas. Not cheap, but money well spent! It cools to 39 degrees at the center vent on R134A and the Sanden compressor draws about 3 hp. I didn't even have to bump my idle to compensate for it. It took 2 weekends of leisurley work. Best advice that I can give is to read Wes' tech page SEVERAL times before starting! Their directions aren't as good as his, but their phone folks are great. I'm happy with mine. SSuper Dave
