: Anyone use Zaino?

I'm curious what the T.C. opinion is on Zaino products. I've been looking at ls1.com and camaro-ss.com since ordering a new SS, and they all rave about the stuff.
the web site is at http://www.zainobros.com
You can only order it directly from them.

I'm considering getting it to apply to my chevelle, and the new car when it arrives. I think the 'clay' stuff they have would freshen up the 12-15 year old paint job on my '69.

Any comments, rants or raves?

thanks,
Brian

I use it and love it. It's really good stuff. I just polished my Camaro and the ten-year-old black paint really shines, it's like a mirror. The stuff lasts a long time too. If you keep the car garaged a coat or two will last around six months. Plus you don't have to use very much. No I don't sell it, but it's nice to share news of a good product for a change.

I won a 3 bottle kit (cleaner, polish & detailer) at a Camaro show last year. I used it on 2 of my cars already but they had such a terrific shine before I used it I can't say if it was better after. It does go on & come of easy and doesn't show residue in the corners and cracks which is a plus for dark cars. I do like the quick detailier stuff also but am not sure it is any better than Eagle One or Maguire products and it is much more expensive... I think. My preference is Liquid Glass fo a polish except you have to be careful around cracks and crevices because of the residue. Not sure if this helps...just thought I would add my limted experience.

thanks, I'm just wanting to get some opinions before I spend a bunch of money on the stuff.
If it's really no better than something I could get at Wal-Mart, it's not worth it.

I have a bottle of Zymol at the house now, and that stuff is pretty awsome. I'm more interested in Zaino's products for deep cleaning and removing swirl marks, etc., more than the normal wax. They have some more heavy-duty things like the clay-bar for refreshing old/weathered paint and deep cleaning.

boo, Zymol is the best. I've been using it for 6 years and prior to that I used only Meguiar's. The shop that painted my car 14 years ago uses only their products and they restore some of the rarest cars in the world, two of which have won the prestigious Pebble Beach Show.

The bottom line however is that no cleanser/polish will restore a neglected or abused paint job to show quality condition.

I would suggest using a fine cut cleaner followed by a good polish. Stay off the edges and away from a wheel (buffer) unless you have experience with them.

I've got a very good laquer paint job w/a
clearcoat on top. The clearcoat has quite a
few swirls collected over the years, and there are some small, shallow scratches and stubborn water marks, etc, in the paint.

I get alot of comments on how nice my paint job is, but anyone with a trained eye can see that it's been around a while.

I'll definitely stay away from a buffer, I want to hide swirl marks, not create new ones.

I thought that stuff was for unclogging drains. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/confused.gif

I got a Prolong car care kit for Xmas last year and one of the products was Prolong's "Paint Sealer". I've used a lot of products from The Wax Shop, McGuires and several others. Give me the Prolong stuff, its outstanding.

The guys on the Corvette Forum http://www.corvetteforum.com/ really love the product. I'm planning to order some and try it.

The Zaino Brothers are a big name here in NY. There Corvette paint jobs from the 70's & 80's are Legendary. I've never used the wax products but I hear they are the best.
