: '72 Fan Shroud - 1 or 2 piece?

I'm going to be purchasing a new Desert Cooler raditor and fan shroud. OPG has a repro 1-piece shroud for $79, and Ground Up has a 2-piece (original style) listed for $119.

Is there any advantage of using the 2-piece other then originality? I'm not concerned with staying original, I'm looking more for functionality and easy to work with.

Thanks for the help

My 72 350-4V A/C Auto has the original 2 piece (it's rivetted together), there proably isn't any functional difference or ease of removal/installation, just originallity and cost. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gif

For a 72, there were different shrouds, depending on what engine, and cooling options you had. But they were all 2 piece shrouds.
A one piece shroud will work and function fine as long as it bolts in, it just won't be the same as what the factory used in a 72.

Mine has a 3 piece, formerly a 2 piece until I ran over it....don't ask. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gif Luckily it popped apart along the normal seams, except it broke along the top. So, now it has a less than attractive duct tape patch. Hey, car craft-ing at it's best!!!
