I was wondering if an AM radio from a 1970 Caprice is the same as a 70-72 Chevelle?
Also, what's the going rate for this radio and also the going rate for a 1973 Chevelle AM radio.
Thanks,
Bob

The 70 Chevelle AM radio is distinct only to that year.It has a green light while 71-72 are white.I paid $90 for a working one with a perfect lense and knobs.

$90?? wow! I have two of them sitting in my garage. Not sure if they even work. One was an extra that came with the car when I bought it, the other I removed from the car myself. Email me if you're interested, and I'll take a look at them.

To answer your question -- yes, the caprice and chevelle radios are identical.

Well a 1970 Caprice radio is not the same...
I'm not sure about the harness plug in rear--you better check (I've got a '72 Caprice radio and the plug is totally different from a '72 Chevelle), but the full size Chevy radios have the ouput transistor mounted internally, so they have a slightly bigger case in the rear. Mounting should be the same.
Technically 70L34 is right, but not exactly.
And yes, 1970's have mint green numbering with a green band at the top of the dial plastic (illuminates green) while 1971-1972 radio equipment has white numbering with a blue band painted at the top of the dial plastic (illuminates light blue).
Model # for a 1970 Chevelle am-pushbutton radio is:
01APB1 or 01APB2
Model # for a 1970 Caprice am-pushbutton radio is:
01BPB1 or 01BPB2 Last digits 1 or 2 indicate circuit board revisions.
