Hey guys,
Here are the stats: 69' Malibu with PS and AC. 350 motor and Hooker super comp 1 3/4" tubes. Should I have them on when dropping the motor in or have them waiting on the sides. Also the power steering bracket: any tips or tricks on the size of the spacer to mounth the bracket.
Thanks!

So far, I haven't seen what I would call regular headers that will install (BB or SB) into the chasis bolted to the engine. They always seem to hit the cross member. I have always had to lay in the headers (held in place with with coat hanger wire). Now, I'm sure the shorty headers will install with the engine, but I've never used them.

Hey Cooter
If I were you I would lay those headers in the bay before installing the engine. As for the spacer, I bought a bracket a year ago that bolts to the front of the head (the two hole facing you when you look at the engine)and does'nt use the exhaust bolt for anchoring. It looked great, allowed a full range of adjustabilty, and was chrome to boot. In fact I haave the bracket and no longer using it because I have a big block, if interested than email me, will sell for 10.00 ( new was 40)
see ya

For the power steering spacer I went to Pep Boys and bought an alternator spacer. Carefully measured and cut it with a hacksaw.
A couple of swipes with a file you're done.
Remember to get a longer bolt while you're
getting the spacer.
