hello everybody. hope your cars are running great! (although you know what they say - if it's got tits or tires - you're going to have trouble! hee, hee (: )
my problem today is my carb. i just bought a 800 holley double-pump w/electric choke. i have a huge cam, 560 lift and lots of other stuff, i felt i needed this size carb.
now, i've got the front idle screws turned only out 1/2 turn, idles great in gear, doesn't seem to idle too rich or too lean, but when i put it in "park" it seems to idle too high. i had to turn the idle adj. screw up a bit to keep the car running in gear. i don't see any other way. i had a 750 holley dp on it before - did the same darn thing. what do you think is up? if i turn the idle screws out more - it smells too rich. please help. thanks guys.

Chvy,
Have you had this problem since you installed the cam? I understand you have an automatic transmission. If the answer to the cam question is yes, did you install a higher stall converter? I experienced this problem in the past. Bigger cam same converter. You adjust idle in drive and when you put it in park runs too fast. Just saying this is something to consider.

the guy that built my engine went with a 2500 stall (yes, it's an automatic).
