Anybody seen trick brackets and pulleys that fit small block w/short water pump? The power steering/alternator is my biggest problem (w/headers.) Currently have a mish-mash of cheapo aftermarket alternator brackets and modified original ps brackets. Works for now, but not very strong and ugly. Have tried Allen Grove ps bracket, but positions pump too low and hits steering gear. March only makes systems for long water pumps. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Prefer v-belt to work w/AC compressor.

Try March performance. They have all sorts of billet brackets and pulleys. Very good quality too boot.

Have you tried looking at a late 70's Vette's alt mount?? It mounts to the front of the head and not on the exhaust manifolds. Have seen em in Vette Resto catalogs and come in aluminum or cast iron, might be just what you are looking for. Try Zips for starters. Otherwise get one of the header mounted ones and have it welded to the top left edge where you need it. Have seen this set up in alot of the vintage fotos from the 60's. Try Ground Up for the power steering brackets for a 69 Z-28 Camaro, mounts to the front of the block and the engine mount, not like the Chevelles did it.

Going through this problem with a new ZZ4 engine. Without using the header alt bracket things get completed. ZOOPs has it all mainly for street roders but same fix for any car. Bracket looks a little bulky but are nice both air & alt match in configuration. There is G.E.M Street Rod Products in Covina Ca 626 967-2609.
One problem my not be yours when you go to an 8" harmonic dampner. Brackets mounted on the head Vs header may cause you P/S pump to interfere with the alt,you have to use a remote reservoir style pump. Just my 02.
I'm going to go with the Zoops. About $130 a bracket. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/eek.gif

Thanks for the tip on Zoops. Looks like the alt/ac stuff will work. Nice but pricey. Still not sure about the ps bracket. The pics look like the pump will mount too low and interfere with the steering box on the frame. I am running an 8" balancer, so we have similar problems. If you go with Zoops, email on me on how you like it. Thanks.

I'm a couple months away from driving. Engine is still in the crate. Paint job is next. One thing about Zoops brackets if you ever decide to go to serpentine these brackets work. Just change out the pulley's.
I know they make a bracket for the GM remote P/S pump. I'm going to the bone yard this week. Caprice & S-10 used this remote.
