Before tearing after the rear seat of my 4 door malibu, I want to ask if anyone knows of the correct way to pull a back seat out. I plan on putting seat covers on this summer, so I would appreciate any help.

the bottom half of the seat sits on "hooks", just pull out and then straight up and it should come out. the top half has bolts at the bottom, remove the bolts and lift it off there are 2 brackets up by the package shelf

My experience has been that you push BACK then up. Brace yourself with your back on the back of the front seat or door pillar, then with your foot push back, then up. There are 2 hooks and are about 1 foot in from the outside edge on both sides. THe wire frame on the bottom of the seat sits in these hooks. If you have never done this before take your time and try different angles, they can be a bear sometimes.

Steve, were you able to find covers for 69 4-door rear seats? I presume they are different from the 2-door seats, with more rounded corners. I know for sure this is the case for the earlier Chevelles. Just curious if this is an issue for you.
