It's hot enough in Georgia without the problem I'm having. Heat is coming though my vents when I don't have any of the air turned on. I know the duct work is all ok. Is it possible I have something else misconnected. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Many older Chevelles had the water circulating through the heater core all of the time while newer ones were given a hoes line shut-off valve. The heat on the older ones were therefore controlled entirely by closing vent doors in the heater box. I suggest that if this is your case, that you check the adjustment on these.

Hey Zac,
Previous info is correct. My 65 w/ factory air did the same thing. Go to an auto parts store and get an in line shut off valve. You can cut the heater hose, then install it in line. It keeps hot water from flowing thru the heater core when turned off. When old man winter returns, just turn it back on. mgg

Wow, learned something new today. Thanks Chevelles.com!

I'm getting a shut-off valve too! No AC and the heat from the core even with the trap shut is unwanted.
