I believe what you are referring to was something called House,Hales, or Howes oil. I believe he mentioned the Mac tool guy carries the stuff. You wipe it own and it stays.

He said use "Howe's Lubricator". He also said to use NAPA "Triple Etch" first. von

I have a question about NAPA's Triple Etch. It is a metal conditioner right. It says not to coat over it with etching primer. I don't understand why it says that. Is it because the condition etches the metal and it doesn't need to be etched again? I like using etching primer on everything I paint, and I have some of this Triple Etch metal wash, but I am afraid to use it for fear of some odd chemical reaction that will occur at the metal surface. Then somewhere down the road the paint will just fall off of the car. If anyone has used this Triple Etch metal wash and then painted with etching primer, let me know the outcome.
