I know they re-stamp distributors and carburetor tags, I think theres a company in Hemmings Motor News that is mostly Corvette oriented but, they rebuild, recolor, and have a good stock of Alternators. I think Corvettes and Chevelles share alternators?, anyway look in the services section of Hemmings or in Corvette Fever, Vette Magazine. If I find out more, I will post it.

67rs327,
I'd give John Pirkle at Masters City Classic Car Parts a call at (706) 860-9047. John Sr. and Jr. have been restoring alternators and starters for many years now and have an excellent reputation in the hobby and their work is first rate. They DO NOT restamp alternators, but they may be able to help you out with a correctly dated core. I know that 837 case is a tough one to find (I'm still looking for one for my L-78 Nova)... Good luck!

Thats a hi-horse Alternator.Your in the time frame of muscle era,i.e.COPO's L-78's,Z-28's etc.All shared this Part# alternator.I did find 3 in a local garage sale down my street.I offered a reasonable amount to both of us.They decided to make some calls and found they could get more, much more as they put it.Well that was 2 years ago and I hear he still has them. Not sure what his price is,but I would'nt want to ask. They were all dated between Nov.1969-Mar.1970.Look elsewhere but contact me if all else fails.
