I finally got the harness hooked up and everything on my son's 67. The engine is not back in yet though. The question is with the harness hooked up and juice temporarily ran to it at the wire for the oil pressure with the key in the on position I have power here, I am sure that is correct, but at the temp wire there is no juice. I can't remember, with the key on before you start the engine the oil light is on but is the temp. light?? Of course this is a idiot light car. The previous owner was a master cobbler when it came to wiring, so I am not sure if I now have it right or if I still have a problem. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/confused.gif Slime

With ignition switch ON and the engine not running the GEN and OIL lights should be on. Alt not charging and no oil pressure. I'm sure you already know that. The TEMP light is not on, unless the engine is hot. GM added a feature to test the TEMP light each time the car is started. This circuit is grounded at the ignition switch when the switch is in the START position. Try this on your 67. If the light doesn't go on the bulb is probably bad. With a good bulb and correct wiring you should have voltage at the temp switch connector same as with the oil press connector.

Thanks for the help!! You are exactly right. Got it all hooked up and grounded the temp light hook-up and Houston I have a light!! The wiring has been so screwed up on this car that I was expecting any thing. Sooner or later some thing has to go right. Thanks again for the help!! http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif
