Hey guys, I was just wondering. My car has manual steering, and sometimes it's a bear trying to park. I don't even think about parallel parking!!! I have been thinking about adding powersteering. This wouldn't be for quite a while. I have a lot of other stuff to do, but still, I eventually may want to add it. I have seen several really good kits for converting to power disc brakes and wondered if anybody did the same for power steering. You know, include everything nesseccary including all hardware and complete instructions. Well, thanks for listening to me ramble. Have a good night.

Yes there is a kit offered BUT just like the disc break kits they are pricy. If it were me i would find a car in the junk yard and strip it for its power steering parts. Power steering stuff is easy to come by. but if you still want a kit check with OPG or better yet Ground Up

I did the swap on my 67. I used the box from a 72 Malibu and only had to buy a pittman arm for the conversion. It would only take you about to hours max. Knock out the ball joint in the pittman arm and unbolt the coupler and steering box. Reverse the process for installation and use the new pittman arm.

I also used the stock 67 power steering pump mount. I tried to use the late model pump, but had clearance problems that would not allow for very much adjustment on the pump belt. I swapped to an early pump and it works fine.

I'm not usre that I really like the feel of the power steering, but the car is much easier to park. I think I'll look into having the flow pressure altered in the box to give the car more road feel.
