i've got my nice new (expensive) summit braided hose and fittings for fuel pump/carb. first time for me, how does the hose connect to the fitting, by screwing it in? i searched the site here and read about motor oil, but i am looking for the "big picture" here.
as always thanks in advance

Just happened to step across this post. My dad installed my Summit braided hose kit on mine, so as soon as I talk to him I'll get back to you..

thanks - i asked the summit guy, he said the silver braid slides under the red screw part, the hose goes over the blue part, then you just screw it on. ahhh, the red part doesn't fit over the silver part...

G,
I'm sure you already read the "braided line" post. (there's alot of good info there)
The only things I would add is to use the electrical tape idea that JOE454 had but use a dremmel tool to cut the line, it makes for a real smooth cut. That may be why the "nut" part of the fitting doesn't fit over the line. If you want to salvage that piece of line, take off the piece of tape that you cut through and put a new piece, half on / half off the end of the line (very tightly) to hold the fraying braids down but don't wrap it too many times around or it will not fit either. Once the fitting is on slide it up the line, take the tape off and slide it back down 'till it lines up with the bottom of the thread, put some oil inside the line and on the outside of the mating fitting with a Q-Tip, and screw it on.
One last thing. When you screw it on, put another piece of tape (or a mark) behind the "nut" side so you can see if the braided line is working it's way back out. (they tend to do that)
Good Luck!,
Mike
