: New to the board
wpierce Jul 28th, 99, 7:07 PM Hello everyone. Just thought I'd introduce myself as I am new to this board. To be honest, I've been a Chevy II guy and frequented those boards. But as I have recently purchased a 67 chevelle bbc car, I've got a feeling I'll be spending some time here. Look forward to the great advice and hope I can offer some of my own when it is needed. Thanks..

TROY Jul 28th, 99, 7:30 PM hey wpierce, did you find any good nova boards? i havent really come across any good ones yet.
Luis Jul 28th, 99, 7:31 PM Welcome to Team Chevelle!!
The other day I went to get some parts for my 70SS and I saw a Chevy II with a six cyliders and a four speed. The car has been in the field for many years.

wpierce Jul 28th, 99, 7:49 PM Troy,
There are a few good chevy II sites out there. One worthwhile board is Steve McNabbs at www.renc.igs.net/~smcnabb/chevy2.htm
Then go to Q and A. A great site for chevy II info, production #'s, decodes, etc is Scott's Nova reference site. Don't have the address but link off steve mcnabbs. Don't mean to clutter this chevelle board with chevy II info but thought this might be of help to you. I can tell by first impressions that there's alot to this board and any time at it will be time well spent.. Thanks again for the warm welcome guys.

gkopeck Jul 28th, 99, 9:27 PM Luis, everyday i drive past a Chevy II 4 spd just outside my place of work. it's in a field that they keep mowed and has excellent metal, smashed glass but all the parts. i can't believe someone hasn't stripped it by now. it would need some serious work, but are these cars worth anything? i've been a camaro/chevelle guy, but the chevy II looks like a perfect candidate for a nice 283 that's sitting on a skid right now.
David Nafarrete Jul 28th, 99, 10:14 PM Some people make fun of me because I really want a Chevy II wagon. They say "what do you want one of those for? You already have the Malibu" I just like the way they look. Plus I like the idea of having a classic wagon.
Welcome aboard Warren

DaDon Jul 29th, 99, 8:02 AM My first car was a '64 Chevy II. It was a 6 cyl w/3 on the tree. Bought it in '68 for $500. I think it might have been an old electric company car...it was beige and had nothing, not even a radio. During the two years I had it, I'd stop in a gas station and 'fill the oil and check the gas'. It leaked like a sieve, but ran like a bear. That would be a great car for a 283 or something with more bite, if you could keep it on the ground.

I don't remember what the first thing is!?

shvel Aug 2nd, 99, 12:15 AM DaDon,
Gottcha beat man. My first car was a '63 Nova II with a 6 cyl, 3 on the floor. Great little car. Bought it for $75. Wish I still had it, but sold it 2 months latter for a '55 2dr sedan. All origanal 6cyl, 3 on the tree and the first owner outside of the family. Yes, I'm still kicking myself for letting that one go. I sold it back in '75.
WPierce,
Welcome aboard. This is the best site on the web for Chevelles. Hope you enjoy it. We all have.

Gene Chas Aug 2nd, 99, 4:52 AM WP, I actually was looking for a duece to fit my L88 in when I decided that they just weren't meant for rats. So a '67 Elle came up. End of story. I like Novas especially the earlier ones. I had a 72 SS and a '75 with an LT1 clone in it. That was a wonderful sleeper. Red w/ white vinyl top.
Welcome. I have found the advice and general fun here to be simply awesome.
I'm learning quite a bit about my '67 SS396 the hard way, so if I can be of any help, or save you some time and frustration I'd be glad to.
