What is the best way to install the center grill section on a 67 Chevelle especially how to flatten the rivets provided with the kit?

I had to do the same thing on my 66.

After trying to install 1 rivet and seeing that I probably would have destroyed the grill and everything around it in the process, I opted to get the rivet screws that I found in Late Great Chevy's. From the top they look like rivets but they are held in place with a little nut on the bottom side.

Don't know if they are correct looking but I didn't even break a sweat when I installed them.
