can someone tell me how to remove the lower balljoint on a 71 chevelle?

Support the lower control arm on a solid place and blast the stud of the joint with a large hammer. Usually it will take only a couple of hammer blows to move the joint.

Rent a balljoint press, it looks like a big c clamp, with attatchments to fit the balljoint. Makes easy work of it, no offense wagner but I would never be taking swings at my suspension pieces, heavy as they are they can still be damaged.

While we are talking about pressing big loads I have a question. Got my eye on getting a small press. Run me about $60 for a 6 ton. Any idea what it takes to press in lower bushings? How about the poly bushings? Can go to one capable of 8 ton for more money but much larger than that it's not worth it.
