Ok...I feel stupid on this one, but I'm at a loss as I've never used one before. I have a dwell/tachometer handheld unit. I know how to use the dwell side, but don't know how to hook it up to use the tach side. It has two leads red/black. I think black is obvious(ground) but where do I hook the hot? Coil? Which side? Help!
Thanks!

That's what I thought, but it doesn't work. It's quite possibly the meter, kinda old and not a quality piece anyway. When I put the switch to dwell, it reads fine. When I switch it to tach the needle dies back to zero. Might pay me to invest in one.
Thanks!
