Fellow Chevelle Owners,
I am in the process of looking for the original owner of my 72 SS Chevelle. I have the original bill of sale, protecto plates, and all literature. I do know the guys name and have his address on the bill of sale. Again I know that Ny you are not allowed to do title searches. How would I go ahead and find this person? All help is appreciated?

Hold the protecto plate up to a mirror, and his name will appear backwards along with his address. Then just call 411, and see if they have a listing for his name in Ga. still. Email me the info, I can check some phone books and see if it's listed somewhere locally.

Once you have the name, go to [http://www.switchboard.com] you can search a first name and last name and optionally a city and state. It will display name address phone number etc.

you CAN do a title search through DMV. Call them up and tell them you want to research the vehicle to see if the car was ever stolen or junked. I needed to do this because my registration was lost before I could register my 72SS. the previous owner moved an i forgot his name. Called DMV and explained. They sent me the info through the mail. There is a special form to fill out as well as a $10 fee. I just did this for my 72SS about 3 weeks ago. Still waiting for results.
