I think that combo would great. My '70 Chevelle is also in the shop getting a makeover. I looked at dozens of websites with all sorts of Chevelles in them. I was stuck between '67 marina blue metallic w/ black stripes or some sort of silver/grey with black stripes. I ended up choosing the '67 marina blue. But I think that either would look awesome. Send me some pictures of your car when it is complete. E-mail to Epistuff@aol.com. Thanks and good luck. Jim R.
THORSS70 Jul 27th, 99, 4:16 PM Chev-hell, that sounds great, but I saw that color on a corvette and it looked like it had a green tint to it, check it out closely. I almost painted my 70 marina blue/black that looks very sharp. My car is toner red from Glassurit 21 line. Very bright color. Keep us posted.
chev-hell Jul 27th, 99, 5:08 PM I liked the blue but i have seen too many that color and also TEXAS is not nice to dark colored cars. the Pewter color on the vett does have a tint of something to it but im not sure what, could be green or brown but i have a white/black interior that will be all black as soo as i can find the stuff, so i think it will look ok. thanks guys check out the granny mobile below before i sent it to the shop with a cowl hood

Lildog Jul 27th, 99, 6:50 PM I'm painting my 70 a teal color, like a light ocean green with black stripes. Your color sounds like a great idea.
Canuck64ss Jul 28th, 99, 3:29 AM A neighbour has a Pewter Vette... It looks real sharp but is defenitely missing something. I think that something is the stripes... Have you looked at Teal ? Mopar has a really beautiful Teal for 1999 and the possibilities would be endless. 454's Viper Pic looks good too, the blue on silver makes a statement...
Brian Termine Jul 28th, 99, 4:53 AM Go for it.
It's your car. I saw that color on a 1999 Pontiac TransAm. It looked great. The black strips would make it look even better.
However, if you plan to show it, reread L89sedan statement. What's the original color? Why change?

masterwoo Jul 28th, 99, 9:37 PM That isnt an ugly aqua :P Like LS mentioned, leaving it the same color as the trim tag is the best thing, IMHO. Granted you have white interior but you will always find little spots of the previous color that will make you crazy (I know from experiance) unless your totally sanding it off. I think it would look good with that aqua color with white stripes. Then again this is coming from a guy who has all his Chevys Hugger orange.
