Hey! This is my first time on the board, but I'm a long-time Chevelle owner!

Question: I have a '71 Malibu w/ a freshly installed ZZ4 crate motor... and I am wondering if Year One's complete cowl induction package will / can be made to work with my small block?

MUCH appreciation in advance for ideas / thoughts / suggestions...

Funny you should ask. I have just recently built a SB400 for a 70 Malibu conv and added a CI Hood, complete. Although I did get all of my parts from Original Parts Group and I used the repro hood rather than GM (about half price, fits and looks perfect). I used one of the early (67-72) Z28 aluminum hi-rise intakes with an adaptor plate (about 1/2in) for a Q-jet. Therefore I didn't need the spacer between the top of the carb and the air cleaner. It all looks and works just like Chev put it together as a factory option. Elsewhere, I have posted an explaination about a check valve for the cowl door that is available from GM.

Sweet! Thanks a ton! I'm using the stock intake for the ZZ4 motor with a 795cfm Edelbrock Q-Jet, so I think I'm going to need that spacer between the carb and air cleaner.

Nice to hear from someone that's used the OPG parts!
