I have good luck with using the rubber seals, but I cut off the ends and use RTV in the corners.

The rubber seal tend to squish out sometime. I've had them work but other time not. RTV is now my seal of choice (I like black because it hides better). The cork seals work well but the gap has to be correct otherwise they can lift the manifold or not fill the space.

black rtv is my choice .....clean block/intake very well wipe down with carb cleaner...lay a nice bead down and install the intake at once.....when its set up i use a razor and make a nice clean cut of the excess......leak proof for sure.....i also like to use copper coat on the intake gaskets nice even spray on both sides and stick into place wait a few minutes...then lay the bead down......nothing to move around and perfect seal each time......

I've used Gasgacinch on both sides of the intake gasket and black rtv in a nice large bead across both ends overlapping a little in the corners and have never had any leak in a BB or SB. The only time I've experienced a leak was using the supplied cork or rubber gasket for the end pieces.

RTV is the way to go for manifold end seals and pan end seals, IMHO.

Note, DO NOT use both in any combination. RTV makes rubber very slippery and it will cause a leak easily. I know guys like to use it to seal the ends of rubber seals, but you will get a much better, longer lasting, cleaner seal by chucking the rubber and going with RTV only. This is personal experience from 10 years as a Mr. Goodwrench.

i use rubber gaskets with a good bead of gasket sealant on both sides. hasn't leaked on me yet. but ive never used jsut rtv so i can't really say which works better. just that the rubber gaskets work for me usually.
