the build:

427, +030
049 heads (will be ported, 219/188 valves, little valve job, and bowlmatch)
the cam (http://dab7.cranecams.com/SpecCard/DisplayCatalogCard.asp?PN=134781&B1=Display+Card)
12:1 compression pistons (at 119cc)
dimple rods w/ 7/16 arp bolts
gm forged steel crank

any idea if i can still run pump on this? also any idea on power output? what about max rpm?

thanks

Why that much compression? Those domes must be huge on those pistons..like .340 or something.. Theres cams that will produce more tq/hp too, without those crazy duration #'s..JMHO and experience. Is this a "street" car,or a "street/strip" car? Crank, heads and rods sound good..those pistons/cam just ain't right ;)
No offense, how did you decide on that cam? The specs seem a little "dated"..again,modern lobe profiles will make way more power than that cam.

just wondering if it could run on pumpgas, because i heard of a few people here with 12:1 but still suck on 91.

and i will run the 3200-3800 jegs 9 inch converter

It'll be more fun and make more power with less compression and a better cam...but each is own..I'm sure it'll have a thumper of an idle :D
Pump gas? i don't think so..you'll need to get the pistons flycut and probably have to run around 32-33* max total timing and 93-94 octane...

ahhh.. oh well, close enough
i will be the only non ricer using octane booster then graemlins/hurray.gif

yeah, gotta love the idle, hmm, you think my bottom end should allow 7500rpm ?

how much power do you think it would pump?

Working backwards in Pat's DCR calculator, it looks like it'll run on pump gas but you better have some tall gears and a 3500+ stall converter or it'll be completely boring to drive on the street. Sounds like more of a strip setup to me. Probably idle around 12-1500 RPM and no vacuum for power accessories. It'll sound good though. - if that's any consulation.

Troy. Troy, yeah, i am getting a 3200-3800 jegs converter with it and pretty soon 411 gears for it. only have powerbrakes, but ed sent me the manual pushrod, so thats fixed smile.gif
