Can a 1970 chevelle disc front brake be used on a 1966 chevelle front drum brake?

thanks in advance.

Simple. Yes, as long as you use the disc brake SPINDLE with the rest of the disc brake set-up.

And don't forget the proportioning valve.

WHAT IS A PROPORTING VALVE? DOES IT COME WITH THE WHOLE FRONT DISC BRAKE ASSEMBLY?

THANKS AGAIN FOR THE VALUED INFO.

I just pulled a disc setup off a 70 Monte, it's the same setup as a Chevelle. The prop valve is a small acorn-shaped part bolted just below the master cylinder. There is a short piece of brake line between the master and the prop valve that is prone to being damaged when you remove it. So spray some WD-40 on the lines to free them up.

Here we go again... chevy lover please do a search through the achives in the "BRAKE AND SUSPENSION" section, you will find everything about the swap and differences between parts between years, including stock vs aftermarket.

I have a 70 system on my 66. I couldnt identify the proportioning valve when I rebuilt the entire system last year, so I bought an aftermarket adjustable one.
