Ok so I finished with my conversion of the holley dead head regulator into a return style with these instructions: http://community.webshots.com/album/101990713qqxRWp
I used a 1/4" return line and 3/8" sending line. It runs at 5.5psi normally, with a slight fluction of .25-.5 psi every 10 seconds or so, not sure whats causing that. Also, I can't change the fuel pressure, which is weird considering the pump's cutoff is 9psi. Anyone have some ideas?

Can you turn the pressure up or down? If you can turn it up, but not down, I can help you...

No change either way, it just sits at 5.5psi.

I toook a quick look at the modification. My guess is that the diaphram isn't sealing when it seats, and it continuously flows past the diaphram, and out the return line. See if you can check that...
Also, I'd bet that if you get it to work, the lowest pressure you'll be able to set is your 5.5 psi, and you'll only be able to adjust it higher (up to your pumps 9psi limit). I think the return line is a little small, and that will increase the pressure required to flow out the return line. I'd recommend using a return line at least the sames size as the main line. You won't be able to set your regulator to deliver less pressure to the carb, than whatever min psi the return line causes. Which in your case may be ok.... if you wanted 7 psi, and you can get it dialed down to 5.5, then your return line is big enough, based on the pump you have.
I'm babbling.... take a look at wether your diaphram is seating corectly... smile.gif

I figured it was a poor seal at the pipe, and was wondering about return line size. You just answerd everything, thanks!

Did you have a chance to check that out yet?
