I am looking to run a mechanical oil pressure gauge in addition to the stock idiot light. I wish to leave the stock idiot light sender in the original location (port behind intake manifold/under distributor) and unmolested. What are some other optional locations for attaching a mechanical gauge pressure line ????? I've heard of a port somewhere on the front of the block, and another one somewhere around the oil filter, but need to know if either or neither will work, or which one would be the best bet.
Thanks

There are 6 ports on the left side of the enginge you can use for this. 1 above the oil filter then 4 in a row on the side and one in the front of the block. The one in the front and one on the side will be blocked if you run a power steering pump. They all look like pipe fittings usually haveing a square pipe plug head. I recomend the one above the oil filter.

I'm not sure about small block as far as if they are their. I think they are. They will be located on the left (not sure about small block) side just above the row of oil pan bolts. What the plugs are , are the oil gally plugs that go to the main bearings. It should have one on the oil filter houseing. The one on the passenger side of the block is more than likely a water jacket.

I went to NAPA and got a brass fitting that had two outlets, I run my stock idiot light, and my oil pressure sender from from the same fitting.
one outlet is 90deg to the block,I run my stock light from this, and the other is 45deg and my oil pressure sender from this one. it is in the spot where the stock sender goes, cost about $4.00 simple deal!
