getting ready to wrestle the sbc engine back into the chevelle. Was thinking of trying to slide the big bolts in first then mount the motor mount to the block. Any easier techniques? Transmission is already installed.
Thanks

Attach the mounts to the block first. Put the through bolts in after the engine is in place. If you go the other way, the mounts will be moving around and very difficult to attach to the motor. Plus you have to put your finger in there while the engine is hanging. If your using headers, lay them in the bay and keep an eye so they don't hang up on the engine. I've R&Red my engine by my self many times this way, and I have one of those Moroso deep pans that makes it more difficult (the engine has to go straight down for the pan to clear the crossmember).
