my little 307 stalls bad when the gas is just barely pressed but idles good and everything there after is great shop said just to run good gas thru it and clean it out, that was a month ago at 100 miles per day. how difficult is it to rebuild and or is there a cleaner better than b12 to put in the gas to try and clean it out??? and thanks for all the help for all of my q's on this site everyone is sooo nice here

This is a simple carb to work on first remove the screws that hold the top on then the two small clips one is for choke linkage other is acc pump linkage. lift top off carb there is a spring in the acc pump port remove that then spray bottom half of carb with cleaner blast it out good clean top half and reassemble. also clean port where fuel line conects, I recomend removing the filter in there and add a in line fuel filter. the one in the carb clogs very easily. Let me know how you make out.

just rebuilt my 600cfm edelbrock performer. it's a piece of cake to do. the rebuild kit costs about 30 bucks and includes all the gaskets and some misc stuff. just remember to lay out the parts so you know how it goes back together and you'll be fine. good luck.

It is more than likely a carb problem as you stated but i have seen a lot of mech and vacuum advance units beeing overlooked as problems lately Goood Luck Mike

i have concidered the vac advance too but dunno anything about them this has a vac advance on a newer type of distributor or cap (cap has coil built in) any way to check if it is working correctly????

do a timing ckeck with the vac advance disconnected, rev the motor with your light at the pointer, your strobe should not move, now hook up the vac advance, put your light on the pointer and rev it up,your strobe should move when the advance starts to come in.you might think about checking your accel pump on your carb, maybe the rod fell off or it is worn badly,or blocked. hope this helps 67rat member #199

the shop that adjusted it said the acc. pump is working. and i noticed that the car still hesitates going down the highway at lower speeds (petal just barely pressed) and better at higher speeds.
