please help i have a 68 chevelle ss 396 hard top and need to install a fuel line from front to rear from engine to tank none is there now . i do not want to take the body off the frame . there is no muffler syestem on the car now either. i do have a pre bent line on hand.also i can very easily take the tank off since i just put it on. i would apreciate any sugestions and/ or ideas.

For some reason my response to your question never made it through last night, so here it is now. You will have to seperate the body from the chassis at least at the R/S from the rear bumper to the cowl. This enables you to reach the hold down clamp screw at the R/S rear spring and to get the old line out and the new line in. If you need more details, add another post to this thread and I'll elaborate.

I had the same problem when I tryed to change out the 5/16 line in my 64 to a 3/8 line. Did not want to pull the body up. Took the pre-bent line and cut (I know I'll hear about this) it right ahead of the rear axle. Was able to get it up in two pieces. Flared the cut ends, hosed them together, and strapped both ends to the frame.
