Yah, finally after almost half a year of waiting I have my 454 in my garage, in pieces http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gif. So now i'm putting the sucker together, got the mains and connecting rods done and then I hit problems. Can't for the life of me find the old oil pump, which happens to have the pickup attached to it so I need a new one now, and I am also short one set of head bolts. Oh well, i'll take care of that stuff and then it party time!

Congrats! All is not well down here in SoCal...engine was supposed to go in tommorrow or Monday, but instead we decided to take the heads off & take em to a shop to get the valve springs put in & the heads ported. Glad the engine is not going in tommorrow because I was only running on 6 cylinders!!! http://www.chevelles.com/forum/frown.gif And it didn't make sense...the plugs were perfect. Oh well, glad someone is happy today. Have fun wih your new "toy".

creeping break-in fears, can you feel it???
mellon aka vortech aka ? ?
P.S. SoCalRat Jay, when a valve does not close properly, there may not be enough compression to fire the cyl, no matter how good the plugs are.
