Hi Guys,

Im about to reinstall the roof rail weatherstrip chrome trim on my 65 SS.

The questions are can I use a clear silicone chaulking under that trim rather than the white dumdum material that was originally there?

Also, how should the trim be adjusted? Should I put the screws in the midpoint of the slotted trim or should the trim be pushed all the way against the inside or towards the outside of the rail?

Also, should I install the trim before or after the headliner is installed?

Try 3-M wide double sided tape, it works well, and is the same width as the weatherstip channel. I also saw this in an article on how to install roofrail weatherstrips . from Muscle car Review Magazine.
